‘Fire’ set to release on 2025.06.01

Some long awaited releases are in queue for release not that recording has been completed. The first release ‘Fire’ will release on June 1, 2025. Fire is an inspirational song about pushing yourself to do better and reaching for the stars. Our usual cast consisting of Stephen Broadhurst on drums, David Sikorski Thorn on guitar, Ken Sinnaeve (Spider) on bass are present along with Mike (Guitar) and Diane Isbister (vocals). The demo was recorded in D2UR’s demo studio and final work on the song was completed at Groove Jungle Studio with Howard Klopak. The rudimentary parts of the song were originally created for a podcast before turning into the full length feature. Before final completion, Leonard Shaw was recruited to play saxophone to further embellish the sound. Kick back and get carried away on the rhythm and lustful soul of the music.

New Releases in the Works

D2UR are currently working on 3 new singles: Hangin’ Upside Down, Poison, and Fire. Hangin’ Upside down is a fast tempo rocker that comes at you right out of the gate and doesn’t stop till the plug gets kicked out of the wall. Poison is a hooky psychedelic rocker that will bake you on high. Fire is a song that is quite different for the band. It began as a podcast and the band liked it so much it flourished into song. The music has been recorded and vocals are slated to begin in November. Look for the new releases to hit in early 2025.

D2UR’s releases new single “Remember My Name”

On January 7, 2023, D2UR release their new single “Remember My Name”.

The signature part of this composition is the hooky melody riff that opens the track and reappears throughout the song. The lyrics were formulated on a pizza box top after a trip to Gull Harbour, Manitoba. After partying for the weekend and back in Winnipeg, we joined our friends around their pool for more fun. We ordered pizza and after eating, ripped the top off one of the pizza box tops, and began taking turns writing out song lyrics line by line until the cardboard was full. After the party, we took the pizza box top home and put it in our studio. It sat there for over a year. One day after we had developed an initial rhythm, we pulled out the pizza box and began developing the lyrical content for the song. We used some of the lines verbatim, but others were morphed as the structure of the song became clearer. The song is about being remembered after we are gone and our hope to carry on in the memories of those we have loved. We all want to live on forever.

Remember My Name

Riding high on the heels of their last release, D2UR are set to release their follow up single entitled “Remember My Name” which will hit the market on January 7, 2023.

The lyrics were formulated on a pizza box top after a trip to Gull Harbour, Manitoba. After the weekend and back in Winnipeg, we joined our friends around their pool, and continued the fun. One day after we had developed and initial rhythm for the song, we pulled out the pizza box and began developing the lyrical content for the song. We used some of the lines verbatim, but others we had to morph as the structure of the song became clearer. We often referred to the composition as “The Pizza Box “song. Celebrating the times we have had seemed an appropriate theme and tribute to those who love us, as the song is about being remembered when we are gone. It is a cry to live again, and again, and to be carried forth in memories of those who go forward.

“Live Again” New D2UR Single

“D2UR’s new single “Live Again” was released on November 12, 2022 following up on the success of “Right Now” which was released earlier in the fall. The new single pulses at the outset and then kicks into drive. “Live Again” is about us getting back on our feet after a long run with the pandemic, and our desire to restore things back to the norm. As we rise again, we hope to unleash ourselves from all the rules and fight to restore our lives. We all want to live again…..some of us want to live on forever.  David Sikorski-Thorn layers plenty of ear candy during the song until the up-tempo outro featuring Mike’s slide guitar (ode to Bob Seger). Be ready to be unleashed!
