Corn & Apple Festival

We had a great time in Morden playing for die-hard fans who endured some rain on Saturday August 23rd. We rolled into Morden on Friday evening to bunk in with Gunner and Val in the D@UR RV. Saturday it drizzled most of the day. When we got to the stage around 6:30 pm, we found out there was a power outage. The feed from the building had apparently caught on fire. Good ole Manitoba Hydro came to the rescue and got the power back up. We played to an enthusiastic crowd who toughed it out even when it started to rain harder. Thanks to all the organizers and group at Corn & Apple for the great hospitality. We hope to be back again. Cheers!

D2UR Mobile sculpture

If you have seen our Facebook posts recently you no doubt have seen images of a sculpture with two hippies (Diane and I) rocking’ out and driving or flying in a Ford Mustang – most notable known as the D2UR mobile. The sculpture was created by local Winnipeg artist Jordan Van Sewell. Stay tuned for upcoming gig announcements in the coming weeks.

Morden Corn & Apple Festival update

The week is finally here and we are getting very excited about our upcoming performance at the Corn & Apple Festival in Morden Manitoba. We hit the main stage at 7:30 pm this Saturday, August the 23rd. We hope you get an opportunity to come down and check us out. This week we have rehearsals with Vaughan Poyser, on bass guitar, and Arron Edgar on drums. For those not familiar with Arron, you can find more about him on YouTube where he hosts a number of education drumming videos. Vaughan is a well known vet on the local music scene and it is great to have his support and assistance. Gunner (Glenn Wowryk – guitar) is here tonight and Wednesday night when we get to rehearse as a full unit. Come down and catch some great rock n’ roll Saturday evening.

LOTW’s Gig report

As some of you may be aware from our recent Facebook posts our recent performance, for Al and Erica McLaughlin and company for their 40th wedding anniversary, was a huge success. The night culminated in a flurry of bodies dancing and strutting to some great rock n’ roll. Our hosts were very generous and gave us the run of the place including the beverage fridge! Not that we overindulged with the performance and all, but we had a great time. We arrived on Friday evening of August the 8th and stayed until Sunday the 10th. The weather and company was spectacular. Hopefully we will get another opportunity to perform in that region soon. Cheers everyone!

Manitoba Club Gig

Our recent show at the Manitoba Club Bistro was by all accounts a success.

The Club General Manager, Graham Davis said “An amazing evening last night! The comments coming back were simply fabulous. Congratulations, and thanks, are due to both of you for putting on such a great show at your club”

The room was jammed and fun was had by all. ‘We introduced Glenn “Gunner” Wowryk, our new guitarist that evening. Check out the new photos in our gallery from the evening. Cheers!
